Exhaust

Post by rditz »

Recently purchased a Flowmaster exhaust kit that basicall goes from the headers back to chrome tips. a real nice setup and reasonably priced... The kit i bought was for a '66 Fairlane. first thing i noticed is that the tips don't make it all the way out the back. second thing was that the front of the H pipe doesn't line up with the headers...

1) how much longer is the Comet trunk than the Fairlane???
2) has anyone tried a flowmaster H pipe on headers??

I am having to modify the setup a bit, which doesn't bother me, i was more surprised then anything....

Rod,

I've not used the flowmaster X pipes but you can determine the proper spot to install them by a simple method.

Take a crayon and draw a line down your exhuast pipes. Start your engine and get it to operating temp. Where the crayon hasn't melted off is where the pipe should be welded in.
