Re: Let me start!!!!!!!!
haven't done much on Sassy lately but did fix the axle problem, with a new one!
Like I stated elsewhere, I think the bearing dried out and heated the inner race enough to sieze the bearing to the housing and break the press on the axle. It then spun on the axle removing enough material from the press area to ruin the axle. I did a backyard fix on it that lasted about 500 miles (a weekend to my brothers place in Alberta). SO,, new axle,,, OF COURSE I COULDN"T JUST GET A LONG SPLINE AND CUT IT TO LENGTH!!! for 3 reasons, it was too short at 22.75 inches,, 31 spline, small bearing so I ordered it from these guys,, nice piece but with the way the Canadian dollar is right now,, I have almost $500 in that one axle and it's just a street axle, nothing fancy,, BOO WHO IS ME ,,, LOL

Freddie stays pretty focused,, you should see him on a curvy road, standing in the middle of the back seat leaning into the corners,, too funny!

Re: Let me start!!!!!!!!
Fred;I was running high 11s, a 289,4-speed Toploader and 10" ET STREETS,turns out the MOSER axle had machining flaws in it,when it broke,it let the tire, wheel and brake loose, destroying the quarter, the bumper and most of the aluminum in the trunk!!31Spline Axles,Small Bearing, now,MW COMPLETE,35 Spline axles,Big bearings,MW Spool and center section!!! GOOD LUCK , ROY.

Re: Let me start!!!!!!!!
POP;mine were MOSER 31 spline, small bearing [early style],turned out to be caused by piss poor machine work, breaking and letting the wheel, tire and brake loose, caused A LOT of damage!! ROY.

Re: Let me start!!!!!!!!
I have Moser 31 splines in my car. Haven't had any problems as of this time. I'm going to be pulling the wheels and get new slicks this winter, so maybe I should yank the axles and look for any possible issues before something bad happens.
Re: Let me start!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the input Roy, I consider myself warned!
Re: Let me start!!!!!!!!
Fred I reread your postings of the adventures with Sassy.
I just love that picture of your little dog riding shotgun.
I have a little Shepard that goes everywhere with me.
Good stuff you got here.
