weather proof relay enclosure for 3 or 4 relays

Post by Kingspeedy2 »

has anyone found a decent looking weather proof relay enclosure for the engine bay?
Bushamn makes a great looking one but it also has fuses which I don't need
I think 4 relays will be sufficient for the engine bay anyways I could get away with 3
Fan,headlights,AC and fuel pump which could go elsewhere if needed.
A buss bar/Terminal strip in there would be an added bonus for the feed
I could get an enclosure from an electronics store and make something but before I do ,I thought I would see what you guys have come up with
I could also use some waterproof relays for headlights and such and tuck them away up near the grill ,
I like the idea of a central location for serviceability. And something that will stand up to wet coast weather
clean wiring is a must on this build
do relays produce much heat if they are constantly energized such as for headlights and or cycling such as a fuel pump?
I could use waterproof relays and just cover them for neatness

Sound's marine like. Try Marpac.
66 Cyclone GT; 245/60R15's on 15x8's and 215/70R15's on 15x7 Magnum's.
There's nothing like the sound of a pushrod V8 singing at the top of her lung's.

Ron set up his relays in Comechero really neat using an old regulator housing.

Not sure if they get hot but kind of have me wondering now.
I have a old truck apt shop that has relay for fan. If I remember I'll let it run for a while and see if it gets warm

These guys http://www.littelfuse.com have what I am looking for and more .Some places call them PCD'S or Power distribution system ..makes Sense and on second thought I think an additional fuse at the relay is a good idea as the fuse in the panel would be of lower amperage for the relay trigger wire

great idea with the voltage regulator.
