Hi all,
I was wonder what was the factory 4-speed option available for the 63 260 cars as im trying to do a conversion on my 62 and want to try and use factory style components is it a standard top loader or a T-10? I cant find the info really anywhere so anything would be helpful
Thanks

Re: 4-Speed Trans for 63 260 cars
Ive heard that some of the v8 4 speed cars had a non syncro first is that true? I thought T-10 was a full syncro trans. It looks like a toploader would possibly be easier to find that a T-10 but ill see whats out there

All T-10 and top loaders are fully synchronized. They offered an English made Dagenhiem four speed in six cyl. cars, they may have been non synchronized in low gear but I doubt it.

63-65 Falcon Comet and Ranchero (forward shifter location) T10 or Toploader will work.62Cometman wrote:Hi all,

Toploader has more parts support these days.
Early 64.5-65 Mustang toploaders had the Falcon type tail housing so adapting it would be easy.
