Rocket - I used stainless 10-32 screws with finish washers on both panels. I'm planning on a drop - down glove box of sorts below the dash on the passenger side right now. The plain panel will get dressed up a bit with a possible emblem or something like it to break up that wide open space. The final pieces should be done soon, so we'll see how it turns out. Thanks for looking -

Thanks! I wish i could take all the credit, but most of that goes to my bud that built himself a full blown CNC router table a few years back. All I've done is give him a drawing and revise it a little. That being said, the final pieces are getting cut today . . .

Right on, it’s cool how little stuff like finish washers and oval head screws can make a big difference with the overall look.
'cause Johno says you gotta have a sig pic! :)

No, fellas, I didn't fall off the face of the earth LOL! A little update . . .

I "finished" my 36x48 shop a few years ago but the interior sheathing, a little insulation here and there, and a few lighting circuits were still lacking. My bud that was cutting out the panels for the gage cluster was a little behind, so, after one too many 20 degree mornings, I detoured and finished out my insulation, wiring, etc to completely finish my shop, finally. It hasn't been under 55F in the shop since! The powers that be at work canceled the impending layoff, then decided to heap a ton of OT work on us, so it's been busy.

Al that being said, I've been tinkering with the body work on the dash and the cluster the last few days, so I should be wide open again soon. Thanks for looking -

This doesn't sound like a bad thing.

Definitely not. It was a tough 5 or 6 months but perseverance paid off.

Nice job on the walls & dash! I like how the screwheads/washers look ,gives it a machine look.& it's laid out well.the screws,I like how they have the ashtray centered in them & across the car, looks great!

Thanks Johno.

Since I deleted the glove box and the old heater controls, I kept the ash tray to fold up and stuff my registration in LOL. I do plan for heat/ defrost later, but that'll be a simple switch hidden somewhere. Plan is for 2 LED's between the speedo and tach for turn signal indications also. I have several scrap pieces left over, so we're trying a few techniques (scuffing, polishing, etc) to see what looks best. Regardless, it should stand out well against a satin black dash. So far I'm happy with it.

Here's the final result of the insulation, ceiling, final wiring, shelving, etc that's taken most of my time the last 2 months. Time consuming, yes, but the 65 is back on the front burner!

Nope - it's not cool now! LOL I can run my blow thru kerosene heater for about 30 minutes and have it 75F in no time, and it'll hold it almost overnight. I got WAY to cold out there this winter. No more!
