Drum brake trouble
Drum brake trouble
Hello all, I am a new owner of a 1961 mercury comet. I have decided to do a complete repair of the brakes but I am having trouble finding all the hardware for the rear and front brakes. I went to autozone, carquest, napa and many other sites and no one has the necessary parts. Carquest only had the wheel cylinders, shoes and drums. Can someone point me to the a website where they have 1961 comet brake drum hardware kit or will a 1963 hardware kit fit?

Re: Drum brake trouble
61 Falcon parts should be the same.

For some reason, the "next page" buttons on the links don't reliably take you to the correct next page, so I copied the links for all three pages of parts .

I just found these online, I have no idea if they're what you need.
I have heard others having trouble finding the hardware for early falcons. I think one guy said he used kits from a 67 valiant.

Re: Drum brake trouble
Hmm nothing for hardware kit. That emergency brake handle would come in handy though. The emergency brake is stuck and I cant release it because there's no handleJims65cyclone wrote:61 Falcon parts should be the same.
