Re: 1965 Rear Bumper to Body Seal Installation?

Kevinshi,

Thank you for the in-depth reply. I’m working on returning mine and getting the proper one. I’m sure with your experience and tips/directions (plus some colorful language and scrapes knuckles) I’ll be able to get it in. Thanks a lot for the help.

Re: 1965 Rear Bumper to Body Seal Installation?

Did you ever get your rear bumper to body seal installed correctly? I recently ordered one from Ecklers (they sent P/N C0DZ-17808-S) and I received a 3 piece one with molded bends in what appears to be the center piece. This also appears to be a poor design from the factory as installing it the way ...

Any, Houston, Texans on here?

Not sure where to post this, but the lounge sounded pretty good. I found a 65 Convertible in the Houston area with some parts that I need. Problem is, I live in CA and the guy didn't sound really excited about removing and shipping the pieces. Let me know if you're in the area, maybe we could work s...

Re: The "Responsible Guy" and his 65 convertible

The interior window trim was mostly successful, with the piece across the top of the windshield fitting perfectly. The two pillar pieces, however, have a little different contour on the bottom and didn't fit exactly. Im sure I could bend them a little and get them to work, but the two I have will wo...

Re: The "Responsible Guy" and his 65 convertible

Great call Joe. Good call on the 63 possibly fitting. Found all three pieces including the two pillar covers for less than what it cost to rechrome mine. From the pics, they look identical. We'll see if they actually fit when they get here

Re: The "Responsible Guy" and his 65 convertible

Yeah, you would think he would realize that a long piece of thin stainless cant just go in a box without some sort of structural support. Hell, I was down south for Pamona and even offered to pick everything up, but he never got back to me. Whatever, I'll keep my eye out as UPS is asking me for the ...

Re: The "Responsible Guy" and his 65 convertible

It's been awhile since I first posted here, but in that time I've managed to find a treasure chest of good parts and dropped a small fortune to have some bumpers and interior parts chromed. Following is the list of "progress" (although I not sure you can call disassembly progress). 1. Removed rear s...

The "Responsible Guy" and his 65 convertible

Just wanted to drop a quick hello to everyone and give them thanks in advance for the incredible amount of advice I'm sure to get from the knowledgeable members here. I've always been partial to Fords and Ford products, being from Michigan and having a 1966 Falcon as my first car, but have never own...
