Re: 67 Caliente rear ride height
I had a similar problem turned out one of the leaves(?) in the pack was broken.
Was happy with ride height so pulled both packs and swapped a couple leaves side to side, the broken one replaced and new front bushings.
Managed to maintain the same ride height.

Re: SHIFTER LOCATION? 64 COMET
I'm not real knowledgeable on this topic but that's a toploader trans and it seems to me they only came in the '64 271hp cars of which very few were made. I don't see how the shifter could be mounted any farther forward on that trans and still function. Is the engine a 5bolt belhousing motor? Does i...

Seems to me you and I were on the side of the road changing out a Pertronix unit that fried on your '65.

Re: 64 Comet decode CANADIAN trim tag
Mine is FB also and the car was originally a 289 4bbl.
Original 4speed car but same as yours no identification of it.
My trim code states 971, it is a Caliente, yours?
I believe 263C is 2dr hardtop.
Friggin Canadian,,, why?

Re: ‘64 Falcon Track Project
Awesome!! Happy to read it!
I searched but couldn't find a post I read somewhere but it goes something like this.
"90% of all fuel problems are ignition problems"
The quote was on a car trailer door at Bonneville.

Re: ‘64 Falcon Track Project
If not A/F or ignition related, may be valve spring fatigue? All of those prolonged revs and harmonics... IDK, just throwing mud on the wall. Joe II Ugh that would suck. The engine has maybe 2500 miles on it but practically all of it at high RPM. Do you think the springs could wear out that quickly...

Re: Unlisted 1964 Comet Transmission
I raced a 65 Falcon roundy round in a low level street stock class in the early 80s. I raced in "2nd" gear but to get there I had to let the trans shift from low to drive then floor it and shift into low to get the "passing gear" (2nd) and hold it there. But if there was a caution or whatever and I ...
