Re: Disc Brake Conversion
A ton of good info/advice in this thread! I'll add my anecdotal experience(s): -Disc brakes are better, but front disc/rear drum is plenty for 99.2% of what anyone is gonna do with our cars. -Master Cylinder piston sizing is based on brake system volume. While the (semi-complicated) math is out ther...

Re: 289 Compression Test
Yah, rerun it hot. For those engines, cold, the numbers are about right, 150 to 120 is a decent spread though. I’d say she’s a bit on the decline. You could do the squirt a wee bit of oil into cylinder thing to see if it jumps up on the lower cylinders. You have a leak down tester for the oil rings?...

Re: roller 5.0 help
I wouldn't reuse the balancer. I think you'll find a v-belt setup easier especially if no AC or PS. I would also replace the timing chain. Figure out what eccentric you'll be using (1-pc or 2-pc) since it & cam gear have to match (pic below). 2-pc: https://i.postimg.cc/FHWpT5dL/2pc-Eccentric-zps23db...

Re: roller 5.0 help
I don't know of any headers that will work with the GT40P heads in a Comet/Falcon. I tried with a couple prior to landing the Edelbrock heads. These SAY they do, but no personal experience. I would give 'em a call: https://www.sandersonheaders.com/sanderson-ff6-small-block-ford-header-set.html I do ...

TFFN
While I always found it easier to participate here, I did post a bit and read a lot on TFFN. When it shuttered, did the whole site get poofed?
I’ve searched a bit & appears to be the case. That’s too bad, there was a wealth of knowledge in the forum archives.

Re: 260 Shelby
Joe - Do you have a 5-bolt bellhousing for the T10? Always found the smallest Windsors interesting but not worth it unless you really want "OG". The replacement piston thing is a definite limitation unless you're willing to spend the $$$ for custom. Several years back, there was a local guy trying t...

Sigh, not another vertical headlighter to muck up the place...! Kidding!! Welcome on!
Sweet ride and the paint looks fantastic, interior also. I've often wondered if the '94-'95 'Stang upper intake would clear - now I know!

Re: Motivation
I have a soft-spot for the Accel stuff and back when, had gotten a great deal on the distributor. It's easy to tune the advance curve, etc. Well, except they no longer make the bushings and while other brands bushings ID's are same, the OD's are not. I got lucky and found one that gives ~14-degrees ...

Re: POP's sheep rider
Baseball has always been my favorite sport. Sadlty (for me) after 6-years, my older boy hung up the glove last year to go only football. Still coaching my youngest's team. We won the league championship last year & while rec ball only, still a heckuva thing IMO. Shucks, I didn't even care about the ...

Re: Motivation
Thanks Pop & Lou - missed you guys too! Kid was definitely more excited. :D I wasn't unhappy. but on first go became apparent the module in the distributor had taken a dump. So that makes one ignition module & one coil in less than 1000 miles. I figure Accel/Holley are going to mail me a check for $...
