Re: Door Open Light Location?

Many thanks. Super interesting auxiliary information. You say "third page" - that seems to be the page with the picture of the car... which page are you referring to? Thanks, kevin I mentioned third page from end. Go to last page, third one back. At the time it was easier to say that than count the...

Re: Door Open Light Location?

FYI - here is a few wiring diagrams for '66 I have lumped into one PDF. Third page from end has wiring info on the SEAT BELT light. Not directly related to the "Door Open" topic but might be helpful to someone.

Re: Hole in transmission hump?

I'm not 100% but is your car a three on the tree trans with the overdrive? That might be the overdrive wiring? I'm trying to look through my documentation to find it.

Re: Is this a factory thing.

That is a typical factory cutout. The shifter mechanism sticks up pat the floor so that is the large hole. These holes were cut on the fly, not pre-stamped. There should be some sealer under the shifter cover to seal the interior.

The small block Ford water pumps on the 80's version of the 5.0 has reverse rotation to accommodate the serpentine belt system.

Just to clarify. Your 390 balancer already has one groove. You need a pulley with two more grooves totaling three grooves?

Competition Engineering has inexpensive drag shocks that are adjustable. I have a set I put on my '66 Fairlane when I want to take the Fairlane to the track. I think they are around $40 per shock. Sometimes you can find guys selling good used ones cheap. Don't quote me but If I recall the front shoc...

Re: 65 Comet with 390

Since this is a budget build, we didn't spend the big bucks on the expensive rocker arm shafts. We went cheaper. It probably wouldn't be a problem, but we don't like the amount of space between the spacers and the rocker arms. There is the possibility of the rocker arms moving a little bit and lett...

Re: 65 Comet with 390

I did away with the plate that was made off of my template and made my own today. I'm happy the way they turned out. I just need to clean them up a little and they will be done. Should have done that a few weeks ago instead of waiting for someone else. I also made my tabs that the plates will bolt ...
