He graduated from physical therapy this week after completing all his g...

Re: Opinions on 289 heads with big valves

Those don’t look like the early small chamber heads. Get a casting number to determine chamber size. Your 68 heads are around 58 cc. If you are going to add a hotter camshaft, screw in studs would probably be a good idea. Thanks for the reply. Picked up those heads yesterday. He had two sets of hea...

Opinions on 289 heads with big valves

Come across this ad on craigslist for 289 heads with big valves installed. He says they are 2.02 (chevy?) valves and the work was done by whites performance in Kingsport TN. He didn't have the work done so this is second hand info. Here is the ad: https://knoxville.craigslist.org/pts/d/289-ford-head...

Re: what did you do to your comet today?

Took the rear suspension apart over the winter. Took apart the leaf springs, cleaned them up and painted them. Considered new leaf springs, but liked the ride height so I stuck with the original. Cleaned up the rearend and painted. Installed Energy suspension poly bushing and shackle kit. The kit ha...

Celebration of life

Weekend before last went to the memorial for James Barillaro. He owns two of the Chrisman comets. His sons own a shop in Knoxville and put on a memorial asking everyone to bring their cars. Great turnout with the highlight they fired up the Comets. Not many memorials have nitro fumes! Pics I took: h...

Re: what did you do to your comet today?

Finally got the Comet back on the road after the gas leak fiasco at the comet gathering. Bought a new gas tank off ebay. Seems to be well made and bolted right in. Hated paying $300 for a made in taiwan but that is all that is available. Drove it to the local cruise in last night and had lots of loo...
