Re: Original hipo cyclone
I am a little confused here. You say your 64 is an original hipo, but your warranty plate shows an engine code K. The Ford documentation states that a 64 hipo will have an engine code D on its warranty plate. I'm just wondering how you have come to the conclusion that your car is an original hipo.

Sad day in the Comet world
Hello everyone. I'm not sure if anyone here has heard, but our friend and fellow Comet guru, Roy Pool has passed away.
I'm not sure of the details, but I seen it posted in the Comet forums on Facebook.
Just wanted to let everyone here know.
RIP Roy. ..

center link bushing?
Hello everyone. I have a 65 Comet. I am rebuilding my front suspension. Everything has been replaced, but I have a question about the center link, V8 manual steering. Can the bushing/pin, the goes into the pitman arm be replaced? And if so, where would I find one? I can find idler arm bushings but I...

Re: temp sensor location
Yes, the one behind the distributor is for the temp sensor. The one behind the stat housing is for the heater hose. The other hole you mention, between the stat housing and the carb flange is just a threaded boss I believe. The casting for the 64 is C4OE-9425-B After doing an online search of this n...

Re: temp sensor location
On the blue intake, there is a hole on top of the thermostat housing. That is the water outlet. Behind that are 2 holes, in between the first two runners on the bottom. One is manifold mounting hole, and the other is a threaded mounting hole. Now, above those 2 holes and slightly forward, the hole w...

Re: temp sensor location
Yes, that's what I am talking about. I heard that early 289 intakes didn't have that temp sensor hole until approx mid 65. So obviously the temp sensor was in another location. Thats what I am trying to find out. Are you using that intake? If so, where is your temp sensor? Here is a photo of 2 intak...

temp sensor location
Greeting all, does anyone know where the temp sensor is located on a 289 made before mid 65? I know it is located on the intake manifold after mid 65, but manifolds made before that don't have to hole for it. I was thinking about buying a 65 289 4V intake, so I want to know where the temp sensor wou...

Its hard enough to find and legitimize a hipo 65 Cyclone, but a hipo Caliente? I find that one hard to believe.

Re: Power Steering Conversion
I'm glad you found one so fast. It took me quite a bit longer to find a V8 PS center link, but now I have 2 of them and a 6 cyl link.

I have a 65 Comet 6 cyl power steering center link, with the adapter link for the control valve. Only problem is......I am in Canada.

Re: sway bar inquiry
I don't doubt the fact that it fits. I am a hands on guy myself. I have been working on cars as a hobby for 30+ years myself. I am just asking how well does it fit. Does it just drop into place or does it have to he persuaded? With the width being an inch narrower, I am just wondering how well does ...

Re: sway bar inquiry
I appreciate all the input here folks. It seems to be the concensus that the Mustang sway bar will fit, but I do have a question. I am assuming that the Comet and Mustang have the same mounting locations. With that being said, if the Comet engine bay is 1" narrower, how does the Mustang sway bar for...

Re: sway bar inquiry
$99? Wow......you guys have it good in the US for prices. Canadian prices are absurd. A 1" Dorman sway bar will cost me $230 Canadian. And converted to US dollars, it's still over $170 US. And if I order directly from the US, I still have to convert to Canadian dollars, plus pay atrocious shipping f...
