Problems viewing Photobucket Images
Hey Guys, it's been a while. The plugin I use to view old embedded images from Photobucket no longer seems to work, as Chromestore or whatever it's called has disabled the app. I can't seem to find any alternative solutions either, which stinks because I want to be able to follow build progress thre...

Re: what did you do to your comet today?
Got "Maxine the Merc" all washed, waxed and California Car Covered for the winter. Haven't driven her for at least a month now. She was smoking occasionally on startup, and that was when morning lows were still in the 60s! I know at least one of her lifters is going out, so it might be from that. Ei...

Re: 64 Comet Build
That's one sick-looking Comet! Love the look, can't wait to hear how well she performs! Wish I could see it in person at Pigeon Forge, but I won't be able to catch it this time. Great job getting this classic to where it is now, hope you have a safe trip!

Re: what did you do to your comet today?
Finally made it to California! "Maxine the Merc" and family made it all the way from Tulsa, Oklahoma to San Bernardino, California as part of our family Route 66 trip over the last 5 days. Tomorrow, we're all traveling to the Santa Monica Pier, so if any of you live out around that area, keep an eye...

Re: what did you do to your comet today?
Changed the oil and pulled the last of that rat's nest out of the driver-side vent in preparation for my family's big Route 66 road trip to California this weekend. Tomorrow's going to involve a lot of running around doing last-minute errands, packing, and Comet-cleaning.

Re: Best way to clean out the windshield fresh air intake...
Finally got that rat's nest out of the vent today! Leaf-blower and shop vac didn't work, so I unbolted the plastic cover on the vent itself and pulled that garbage out. The mass of old interior stuffing was the size of a softball, and that was the part that hadn't already blown out of the vent! Clea...

Re: Best way to clean out the windshield fresh air intake...
How do you clean out the vents without disassembling everything? I don't have any reason to remove and work on the fenders and the heater on My 1964 Comet right now, but I just figured out how to activate the fresh air vent, and now I've got the remains of a rat's nest blowing out of the driver-side...

Re: If I were to have a Comet it would have to be..
IMO ALL of the Comet/Falcon wagons are awesome....2 or More Door!! There was a really sweet Falcon wagon FS here about a month ago. Really made me wish for more space (and $$$)!! Very true, I'm just a touch biased since I've got a 4-door sedan. I'd take a 2-door in a heartbeat provided th...

Also, Welcome to Comet Central! Glad to have you on board! If you've ever got a question about your Comet, this is the best place to find your answer. I had trouble finding '64 tie rod end replacements for months before I joined this site, but these guys helped me out in just a couple days!

Re: what did you do to your comet today?
More of a "yesterday and day before yesterday" post, but I finally got my 1964 Comet, "Maxine the Merc," back from my mechanic on Monday, and with my Dad's help, had her trailered over to a wheel alignment shop. Picked her up yesterday, and immediately drove to the local Tuesday-afternoon cruise-in ...
