Re: Bolt on exhaust for a 64?

Merlins Muffler and Brake welded up a true dual system system for me for like $250. Wasnt equal length because they "copied" the stock routing from driver side to passenger side with the one pipe and ran it along with the other pipe for a bit until after the trans.

Re: Flow rate 2v intake vs 4v intake

Well i appreciate the response, by chance do you know what your making out of your 260? i got a set of early 289 heads with 1.8 valves that are going on the 260 but it going into a different project mostly due to the cost it would take to rebuild it is more than what i can get a fresh crate engine ...

Re: iPhone, iPod, etc without a radio

Something like this would work. Just plugs into an amplifier. SO will need the correct amp. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_13691126/JL-Audio-MBT-RX.html?tp=61776&awkw=79438365495&awat=pla&awnw=g&awcr=65372638345&awdv=c&awug=9021515&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIw6XF8rSK2gIV3rfACh1kOQatEAQYAiABEgLmQPD_BwE And as ...

Re: Ford 8" upgrades

Well the plus side to the drag racing I am going to be doing is with pie crust slicks. No smokey burn out and such to get them real sticky. In the 60s they just rolled up to the line and went. So the forces wont be as crazy as if I went with some M/T ET slicks say. I am gonna email that place and se...

Re: Ford 8" upgrades

Thanks for the replies so far! Another thing I just remembered, I have an early 8", so has the weaker case. Since this will see strip use, I would hate for the case to crack while Im having fun. I have seen these on Ebay for a few years, and really for the money, I dont think I can go wrong. http://...

Re: Ford 8" upgrades

Can you run a spool? According to the '66 NHRA rule book in the "Stock" classes "Ratchet type(limited slip) type rear ends are accepted. Quick change or locked-spider differential rear ends are not permitted." Plus I will be driving this on the street from time to time so I dont want to lock the re...

Ford 8" upgrades

Looking to go with a 3.80 gear in the 8". What are you guys running for limited slips/bearings and such? Will be running a Top-loader wide ratio trans and a 302 or a massaged 260, depends on what I hear back about the rules. I plan to run this at the Uncle Sam's Pie Eating Contest at Byron Dragway n...

Re: 1964 Comet (NOT MUSTANG) 289 D code versus K code

Here's a wrench to this old tale. My nephew called last night. He just bought a 64 Caliente conv. with a K code. He is the 3rd owner. It probably is a K-code but a Merc 64 K-code was a D-code Ford Stang engine from what I have read in multiple forums. Ford did not allow the Merc divison to use the ...
