Thanks, that does look like a good start. I really am looking for more of a race car. I don't want to screw up another nice car that could be someones cruiser.
They only made so many and we need to save the nice ones, not butcher them like I usually do.

Re: Building my 65 Comet
That's sort of what he wants. He has the hot wheels and he wants the the motor to stick out through the hood so the tunnel ram will work. The stripes on the side will be black and the car will be that gray that's popular on the new cars. Should fun and profitable if all goes well. He said if he like...

Re: Building my 65 Comet
Well it appears that my build has taken a twist. The car will still be built as a street driven Gasser. However now it is being built for another person. I was contacted by a very nice retired individual who had a 65 Comet as his high school ride and due to life happening it became lawn art for a ve...

Re: C-6 install
Thanks. That's good to know. I want smooth the firewall to get rid of the heater motor and hose holes ,Plus this car had dealer installed a/c and they drilled 2 more hose holes right beside where the gas pedal comes through. Since I am going to a hanging gas pedal with a toe operated return I am fil...

Re: Dan's 65 Cyclone project !
Looks like you are making some progress. I am getting ready to cut up my freshly installed floor pans and make a bigger tunnel to clear the C-6 transmission I am going to use. Since I only used a small strip of the original tunnel. My new pans will have to be trimmed.

Re: 1965 Comet Caliente (little red)
We were at the Masters in Augusta,Ga when the eclipse went over. It was only 70 percent down there. Your interior looks great and as for the mirror. I had my neck fused about 20 years ago and I could care less if the mirrors are slightly offset, I want to see behind me and in the other lane. I would...

My shock towers are in the scrap metal pile. So no worries there.

Re: C-6 install
Thanks , I have a good idea what needs to happen after having a Lakewood scatter shield in my last Comet. The C-6 is just wider all the way back. I took some measurements yesterday. I will probably just get some sheet metal and roll a new tunnel . A friend gave me a Cheetah shifter yesterday . So th...

Re: 65 Gage Bezel
I would like one .I install my tach in the speedo hole and mechanical gauges in the other holes. At least that's how I did my SEGA super stock wagon.
I would just paint mine. No need for chrome on a stripped interior gasser interior.
Tail light housings to accept Led's would be great.

Re: C-6 install
I am going to mock it up this weekend and we will see. The factory heater is already history. might put some sort of hot rod heater in the car mostly
for the defroster.

I know this is an old post, but I am curious after reading the whole thing. Did you ever fix the problem.

Re: Building my 65 Comet
Bought a fresh built C-6 trans today. Now the fun begins making that sucker fit. Probably start mocking up this weekend.
Should be getting the Coyote for the 59 F100 project soon. Might just swing it over into the Comet engine bay for grins to see how it looks.

C-6 install
Before I break out the plasma cutter and start hacking out my freshly installed floor pans . How much cutting is involved in putting a C-6 in a 65 Comet behind a small block Ford. Before you start telling me how much easier it would be to put a C-4 in or install an AOD. I have a freshly built manual...

Re: Building my 65 Comet
Got an idea of the stance by taking it down off the jack stands. Didn't want a nose bleed gasser or a street freak.
Had to move the car over to make room for a paying customer's 59 F100. Frame off paint job ,chassis updates and Coyote motor swap.
