Re: Root's 64 Cyclone Build
And just so everyone is aware - his hoods come pretty much ready to bolt on for the price you pay. Everything drilled and tapped, etc. Also regarding the sway bar - I ended up just buying a new 1” one from opentracker. Will need to wait until I have weight on the front and compressed to install the...

Re: Root's 64 Cyclone Build
Long cold Winter here but I got a little warmth last week out of the blue. Tim Mills messaged me to let me know that my hood would be finished in a few days. Since he is half an hour from me I stopped by his shop and picked it up on Saturday morning. Nice guy and quality work. Now that Crites is kap...

Re: Dan's 65 Cyclone project !
I guess we will see what these cars can handle with just SFC, a healthy 331, 4 speed and 4.11s on monoleafs on whatever slick I can fit into the stock space FoMoCo provided. Cause that is my route. I say write down a list of MUST HAVES and let that dictate the direction you go with the rest. For me ...

It’s a real thing. Helps to kill some of the acidity. Try it some time.

Re: Chili
I make a mean venison chili but I have no set “recipe”. It is adjusted based on how much I make and I season to taste. 1. 100% pure ground venison (no fat or pork added) - olive oil - minced garlic - salt - pepper Brown meat 2. Tomato sauce (generally the large GFS can) 3. Chili seasoning mix packet...

Re: My current 65 Comet project
Interesting on he box to cowl seal. My 64 has a flange with some clips that attaches to the seal and then snaps into the cowl. My car didn’t have a seal that I recall so I guess I should fit it all up and see if I indeed need a second seal.

Re: '64 Cyclone Steering Wheel
You need the generator version so that when you install your center and rotate it to lock into place the spokes align with the wheel spokes.
You get the wheel. You will have to buy the horn contacts and plate, etc etc etc.

Re: '64 Cyclone Steering Wheel
You can use a Scott drake mustang wheel. Just make sure you get the right one. There are two styles. 1 for generator cars and one for alternator cars. The locking slots for the horn center are clocked differently between the two so you need to know what your car originally was. I bought this one fro...

Re: 289 vs 302
Externally they look for same. Internally the crank and rods are different between the two to achieve the extra CID. If the engine is going to be or has been rebuilt then likely 0.030 increase in bore diameter yielding 293 or 306 CID. My opinion is do what is easiest. If the crank is able to be turn...
