Re: what did you do to your comet today?
Looking very clean :D Thank you but not as clean as appears. Could use a bath and a proper paint job. Working on engines is one of my passions, more so than the rest of the vehicle. They've always perked my curiosity more than other things. Joe I have always considered myself more of a mechanic tha...

Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build
Today I painted the bottom of the car with grey single stage Omni. I'm done with the bottom for now until undercoat. I am going to get another quart of the grey Omni and paint the inside floor and firewall as I am done metalworking that too. The grey allows me to see what I am doing------------- ht...

Re: PHASE2 THE 250 I-6
why I chose to build a 250 six the whole idea came about because I have been wanting to put a 5 speed in the Comet forever I was researching putting the T5 on a 200 wth adapters etc when I found the 250 shared a small block bell housing pattern, I could bolt a T5 directly to a 250, no adapters just ...

Re: PHASE2BUDGET BUILD CONCEPT
I guess the first thing I want to talk about is doing this project on a low budget, I think there may be guys out there not considering working on their Comets because they just don’t have or want to spend a bunch of cash on a hobby basically, I know because I was one of them, and still am  I am...

PHASE2
I thought maybe it was time to start a new build thread on my Comet with the original one well over 100 pages it has been near impossible for me to find stuff I am looking for, and you know the build thread is more for me than anyone so I can keep track of what I have done and used and built over th...

Re: Upgrade your steering ( 65 V8 steering)
Yea Better shocks would help a lot.Your frontend is jealous of the rear! & with adjustable ones ,surely you could dial it in to suit you. Do you still have your old steering box? that would get your turning radius back. why did you go with R&P ? to get PS? It's probably the same rack as a MII. if y...

Re: Upgrade your steering ( 65 V8 steering)
I've searched through some stuff and can't find it. I'm looking for an article or link to an article on building a roller bearing 65 V8 idler arm. I was sure there is one in here somewhere, anyone have an idea? Fred Is it a sticky under the suspension section? Maybe hard to find but I talk about so...

Re: Oil change?
I may try the Rotella diesel oil as well, did not wait all this time and spend what I have on machine work not to protect it when done guess caution over folly I only burn Shell 93 octane Nitro+ fuel in my Comet. Might as well go in full with Shell. Good product. Might put a sticker in the quarter ...

Re: 65 Comet with 390
I was pleasantly surprised to check my mileage on the trip this past weekend and find that I got 17mpg and 16mpg with the Cyclone. The dual Quads do not seem to hurt the mileage when driving at highway speeds. I have two Holley 390cfm on a low rise vintage Shelby intake, I drive sensibility and rar...
