Re: Joe's '63 1/2 Tinkering Thread
Passed inspection w/ flying colors Wednesday. Horn is a bit stubborn because contact in turn signal switch is sticking occasionally. Junk aftermarket stuff :? Need to take the wheel back off and try to resolve that problem. Dielectric grease was probably a bad solution. Had a very slight vibration ...

Re: 64 Falcon Track Car
'Watch him' as 'in your mirrors' Joe II Hey Joe last spring was, I believe, the 50th anniversary of the Cobra Owners track event. The 100th event. Lynn Park is an old guy and I don’t think he really drives his cars out there anymore. He brings a couple Cobras and parks them in the front near...

Re: 64 Falcon Track Car
The next track event will be held on 28/29 October. Open invitation to anyone that would want to go and see some old iron going fast on a historic road race track. The track is about 1.5 hrs north of LAX or 1 hour north of Burbank airport. Be cool to meet some of you guys. I might even put you to w...

Re: 64 Falcon Track Car
Yes he’s the one that rents the track twice a year for these events. Nice guy! 'Watch him' as 'in your mirrors' I'm not Cobra aficionado but his old slab side beater is a killer car  Joe II He’s got an original million dollar one and a newer kit made to look like a beater. https://yout...

There are track events all year but this one focuses on 60s era Fords and Cobras (although there are a lot of newer Mustangs too). It’s no fun running against BMWs

Re: 64 Falcon Track Car
Man I wish. These bias ply Hoosiers are $300 each and they don’t last very long. But boy o boy do they STICK! Ive looked into cheaper radials but the sizes aren’t right for the vintage look. So its either these Hoosier HOT TDR tires or Goodyear Blue Dots that are even more expensive.

Re: 64 Falcon Track Car
As promised here are the pics of the rear cooling ducts. Not sure how hot the rear drums actually get but I had the kit from years ago and decided it was time to install it. Backing plate gets drilled in a 3 inch circular pattern with a group of 1/4 inch holes. The duct attachment plate is just visi...

Re: 64 Falcon Track Car
By Sunday I’m in IDGAF mode and I really lean into her and it gets fun and scary. I think Sundays are the days I come off the track a little shakey and full of adrenaline and thinking maybe I shouldn’t have done that to that guy in the Mustang haha  I don't think I could sleep for a week a...
