Re: Chrisman’s Comet
Saw the 67 in an exhibition run in 1993 at the Ford Performance Club of America show, swap, races at Kil-Kare in Zenia,Oh. No full out deal but super impressive at any rate. The theme for the event was Mercury and Comet and was a bonanza of A-FX and B-FX Comets. I was restoring a '70 Cyclone Spoiler at...

Re: Car Lift
No such thing as a perfect lift except an anti gravity machine. There are always certain things you can't do because the lift is in the way.

Re: ITS TIME TO SWAP
Do you still plan on racing? There IS that cool factor with the 4 spd but the C6 is better for racing. There really isn't a lot of guys that are successful with the traditional stick and clutch setup.I see them at the races....granny shifting, missed gears, bad reaction time, broken parts, etc. Your C6 ...

eBay screw ups
This is just in the last year...Ordered a Ford starter solenoid, received a window switch for a Freightliner truck. Ordered some decal application fluid, said it was delivered. After doing some research, found it was delivered to an address in Pa...I live in Ia. Lastly, ordered an air compressor pressure...

Re: Change 3 speed stick to 4 speed stick
http://www.davidkeetoploaders.com/idchart1.htm You would be extremely lucky to find the right trans in a junk yard.Everybody knows what they are and grab them as soon as they pop up,which is next to never. The swap is not going to be anything close to cheap but would really improve the value of your ...

Re: Harbor Freight Needle scaler
Pretty effective tool, isn't it? I have a mini scaler like yours and a big hoss piece about 3 times that size. These are not quite as thorough and smooth as the blaster but way cleaner and easier to use. They won't remove undercoating that is still sticky but neither will a blaster. An old Navy guy t...

Re: Coil Spring Dilemma
Those coil spring spacers are pretty slick. Could have sold millions of them in the 60's,early 70's. As slick as they are,my vote is coil overs. You would still be rolling the dice on the spring weight but you would have much more adjustment.

Re: Finally building my 64 Comet
I don't know how much,if any track time you plan on doing but you could have a problem with the fuel regulator location.Mine was similar to yours, mounted on the firewall, and got sent home by the tech inspectors. They didn't check a whole lot else but that was a no go. NHRA rules says that the fuel li...

Re: Best set up cooling wise for LA Traffic. Fan or no fan?
I used an OEM type radiator for a 70 429 CJ Torino and did enlarge the core support, used the Torino mounting brackets .The Torino shroud fit perfectly...upside down.Got a 6 blade fan from Summit. This ended the cooling problems I had with this car for years.Never went over 190,no matter the traffic ...

Re: Rack and Pinion problem 64 Comet
As long as the cross member is not in the way, lowering the rack should be no problem for a man with your fabricating talents. One problem I can see is an extreme angle of the steering linkage causing a bump steer problem. It ain't going to be a road race car so some bump steer is acceptable. These or o...

Re: 1965 caliente
The reseal kit without the bushing is Edelmann 8501.They usually leak around the front seal, reservoir to pump body O ring, pressure port to reservoir seals.Be careful to put the pieces back EXACTLY as they came out. The Saginaw pump is the real deal but I don't think there is any OEM brackets for a s...

Re: 1965 caliente
That would be a Thompson-TRW pump.Reseal kits are available many places and are fairly easy to install if the front bushing is still good. The bushing is somewhat tougher without the correct tools.I would think the hoses from a later 60's,early 70's small block Mustang would work. You will need a pul...
