thanks for the info,i may call them up when i get ready to start on my brakes.i took my comet for a ride yesterday,its been a long time.i got so excited,my heart was pounding.i had to come home and relax to get calmed down.it ran and drove great.i hope my luck holds up and i get to have some fun wit...

i finished up with the pedal assembly.works great ,no binding,squeaks or noises when you mash it. i got it adjusted,new return spring.right now is the best condition my comet has ever been [mechanical wise] since i bought it in 83.im very happy with it.it didn't have a dust cover for the flywheel an...

i bought the whole brake, clutch pedal assembly,bracket,pedals and all.mine was so shot the bushings were loose and the hole was wollered out so bad the bushings were about to fall off.the notches where the clutch spring hooked in were egg shaped.im glad i bought the whole thing instead of rebuildin...

my new one is welded in just like you did yours.i just finished taking the old pedals out and the bushings were falling apart.it is rebuild-able but all bushings are shot and brittle falling apart.i guess its going to take one more day to get it all back together.i may get a rebuild kit for my old p...

i think im done with those boxes,i ran a malory duel point for 18 years,no problems,didnt even change or reset the points in it.switched to msd dist and box and had 2 boxes go bad in 4 or 5 years.if the module holds up good im done with the boxes,plus its snappier and it idles right away when cranki...

i had the only 66 comet out of over 200 cars at the show.more 66-67 fairlanes than anything,must have been 40-50 or more.

it was all msd till i put the module on it.i dont have a rev limiter now that i got rid of the box,but thats ok,i didnt need it anyway

fairlane club

the fairlanes of america club is meeting 1/2 mile from my house this weekend.i took my 66 comet and joined the club.they come to town about every 5 years and meet at the meadowview convention center right down the road from my house in kingsport tn.

well my box quit on me,that makes 2 in the last 3 or 4 years. i went a different route this time,i left the box off and put a 20 dollar gm module in it.for some reason its way more responsive than it was with the box on it,revs like a small block.and i had to back the timing down 3 or 4 degree after...

i haven't got to drive my comet lately.after fixing the clutch linkage and it sat for about a year,i fired it up to see if the pedal felt ok,ran good but the next time i tried to crank it it would not fire up.it burned a hole in the rotor tip and melted the button in the dist cap.after replacing the...

i run no ethanol fuel only,but i have a inline pump and carberated engine.i was hoping i could just remove the foam and it be ok without it in there.

fuel cell foam

i have a 16 gallon fuel cell in my trunk with the plastic looking foam in it.problem is i took the fuel filter off and pulled it apart and found little bits of that plastic in it.it was enough to slow down the fuel a little.anyone ever have this problem,do you pull the foam out of the tank?
