Transverse leaf measurements

Post by SASSY »

Hi all, is there anyone out there that has access go the rear suspension of a later model vette. shhh.
Im after the dimensions, width , length, mounting points etc of a FRP mono leaf.
I promise to keep the fact that you have this knowledge secret if
you so desire.
I would like to use one in my IRS build if possible.
Fred
I'd rather do it myself if it's done right or not,,,isn't that what hotrodding is all about

Fred I would think one of the narrower 70's model vettes would fit better than the later ones.

Maybe but the wheels are narrower and the spring goes out to them.
From pics it looks like later series cars with much wider tires the
leaf mount is on the control arm possibly making its overall length shorter.
As noted Im looking for a composite leaf.
But any info is a start.
Some Volvos also used this style spring so interested in those too.
Fred
Ps,, This summer Im probably gonna get some sideways looks from people when I ask them if I can crawl under the back of their Volvo!
