I assume they were cut and sewn... because Pops car is that way and he's an original. Plus why would they make a cut and sewn version other than for originality sake?

Most automotive including Comet’s was originally molded, the labor to sew carpet to fit a car was and still is cost prohibitive. (Except maybe R.R. Or Bentley)

thanks Jim, and interesting. Not challenging you, but educating me. Do you know why they ever offered cut and sewn then? Seems once molded worked, why would they ever go to something more labor intensive (other than possibly look) which would only matter in a R.R. or Bentley?
