Complete Paint

Post by KBirdman31 »

It escapes me but what is the term used for when each part is removed when doing a complete paint job. Removing fenders, hood, trunk, etc... not the Maaco mask and paint job??

" what is the term used for when each part is removed when doing a complete paint job"

a pile of parts in the garage ... ?

"taking it down to metal' should mean all metal was repaired or replaced and prepped' for lasting work - more important than the final paint .

is there a term ?, - disassembly and reassembly maybe ?. - r & r of front bolt on parts' often referred as 'front clip'. 'Jams and tails' ...

.

'Frame-off' is thrown around loosely, if that's what you are referring.

Not applicable to unibody construction but it still hanging around from the truck crowd.
