Guess I'll keep posting here since I just tinker away. Today's project-

Image

Got the fuel line off the old Holley and cleaned it and the exterior of the carb this morning before the temps started to rise. Also ordered the last pair of KYB front shocks for the '63 from Amazon. I always buy and support local businesses but no one in town can get these shocks now. Holley was out of stock on the kit as well. Very fortunate to find one locally. Everyone online has the double-pumper kit backordered, including Summit Racing. Manufacturing and shipping in this country is still really messed up, not surprising what we dealt with last year. Just hoping things pick up for the better. It's a growing concern with all sales and service shops right now. Trying to be optimistic.

Joe it's handy to have a build thread,or just a plain thread if it is already built. helps to remember what all I did to it,& with all the details & pics. Mine got kinda too long, made it hard to find stuff in there,,,like Mike said about his,,, but someday I'm going to edit in an index at the front of it to help me find stuff.
although some stuff would be more at home here in this thread, like ''I washed it & went for a spin today!''

Joe
I think a tinkering thread is fine mine may morph to different areas as I try and gEt something usuablE like lavron’s engine thread or lavron’s air ride or lavron’s interior build, might help to have categories we have plenty of space to make topic and if they are descriptive they may be more useful in the future to everyone myself especially

Today, 7/18/21 there was an all Ford show at a Ford dealer just outside of Milwaukee. About 130-140 Ford powered vehicles showed up, many of which were some flavor of Mustang. There were a few Comets in attendance, a ‘66, a couple of ‘67’s, and my ‘64. No ‘65’s that I saw. Except for the “belly button” Muskrats there was a good selection of FoMoCo’s best offerings, Cyclone, Torino, Talledega, Fairlane, Galaxy, even a Meteor.
I always enjoy a show like this because everyone speaks the same language-Ford.

Would love to attend a show like this, Jim. The gatherings here are full of modern muscle cars.
Quicksilver is looking great. Those deep dish slots look boss. Thank you again for your help, much appreciated.

I can’t seem to get back up to the shed with Heath and strength issues and the heat I want to really badly nothing is seeming to cooperate right now :( I guess I need to be paitient it is hard when you can’t do wat you want but wait and make rambling posts in the forum in the mean time right now trying to see if I can’t get at least one post out of the original build thread over into the new format and organized so I can find stuff hopefully in the future  I just have been trying to update them to make them match what I have done not what I was going to do and did on some of them

Yes it's great to see and talk to like minded people. Back in my home town the local Mustang club put on these shows and it brought out some of the coolest pieces!!

What size did you go with Joe? Looks like a double squirter.

Give us a report when you get it like you want it.

650 DP and it's where I want it now, I believe. Will have to run a tank of fuel through her and check the plugs. I jetted to the original 4777 which is 10% fatter than this 4777-7. Had to jet Eddy up 10% to get it right, so I think I'm very close now. Holley started jetting these things down with the 4777-2. I'm thinking the original was a straight-up race calibration. The later revisions may have been leaned out for emissions and street use but I'm not certain.

Slow rust repair. Figuring this out. Getting quite a few recommendations for white vinegar, then more wire wheel and it should weld alright I suppose?
