All the Murrays were bought out by CSK and then O'Reilly's. I got lucky because I know the distribution center operations manager in town and he found me some in stock! I am sure some parts stores have similar options, you just have to look around.

My new addition, 289 auto, disk brake conversion, flowmater exhaust and headers. Great driver, but still needs some more power. Haven't figured out how much power I want, but that is part of the fun in planning/researching.........

Wow! great looking caliente gwalk, I had been thinking of ditching the chrome trim if I ever get around to paint but your car looks fantastic with it still there.

It's awesome to finally find a Comet Forum on the net! I just got this Caliente last year but I have some plans to upgrade the 289/c4 drivetrain. It's empty right now. I picked it up for $1000, it had an engine fire:

So you are basically starting from scratch and get to build your own the way you want? Awesome!

Looking forward to seeing the progress!

Just thought I would make my first post here. I just recently picked up a '69 comet. looks like there few and far in between. but I love it. the PO did some riggin up though so I need to fix some things on it. like the front springs that he heated and get a new grill fender and hood and interior is all she should need. she has a 250 l6 with he c4 trans but not sure about the rear axle. I did have to make it my own and add some stripes to the hood though.

Thanks for the compliments. Yes, it will be a pretty clean slate. I like the fact that all the trim is there and it really hasn't been disturbed. It's not as straight as it looks, but it's not bad enough for me to repaint at this point. Right now I am working on a front toe board and floor pan. I have the subframe connectors installed and I braced up the front seat supports. I'm also assembling the engine for it.
