a win for the Comet

Post by Aussie Comet 1964 »

a top weekends racing at the Day of the Drags nostalgia meet here in Sydney, managed to go through 8 rounds to win the 11.00 to 13.00 bracket with my 64 comet street car, there were 2 other Mercurys were running, a 70 cougar 351c (14.7s) & 68 cyclone 390 (12.5s) . Comet ran consistently all day within 0.02. best time of the day in the final 11.001 & i somehow cut a 0.002 reaction time in the 4th round. its the second time i have won this event, the first win with the new engine. lucky i bought a new set of street radials during the week cause i needed them to drive home on. RCMike don`t like my chances of another 0.002 light, the last 2 meets i have gone home after a 0.006 red at both meets. Roy I won`t be criticising your RTs, not when your facing a pro tree. John

John;a PRO tree is tough but that .290 was on a .5 sportsman tree!!!!!I had .020s all during TTs,then went to sleep first round!!! You should be proud of that .003 package in the final,he would have needed a .002 package or better to beat you!!!!!AWESOME!!!! ROY.
