I am getting set to start assembly of my comet.
64 comet 2dr
early 302/C4
8" rear end
I have found every bit of info except which driveline would be the easiest to use.
Anyone got some suggestions??
Thanks in advance

Not sure what you mean by driveline. I see you posted 302/C4 and an 8inch. That is a simple combo to install.

I think econo is looking for suggestions for a driveshaft
I can't tell you what it should be, but someone may have done this combo before and can, I would say install everything and measure the length it needs to be and go to the salvage yard and see if you can't find one the proper size, I would start by looking for Mavericks and Granadas they would probably have the correct yokes on them, the important one is the one that fits your transmission as you can get a conversion u-joint for the rear if neccesary, longer of course is better than shorter if you can't find the proper length as you can take it and have it shortened to the proper size.
Of course you could have a custom aluminum one built, for the right price.
See Ya,
Mike

I have a parts book that says says 62-65 Fairlanes,62-63 Meteors,63-65 Falcons and Comets and 63 64 Galaxie (6 cylinder and 289 models )if the length and 64 65 66 Mustangs. My interchange book only goes to 1965.And it lists 18 different lengths from 49 7/10" to 58 13/64".Like Mike said Mavericks and Granadas would probably work too.I have to have one for my 62 Comet and I am hoping that a 62 Fairlane that I bought a while back will have one that will work.Later ,Heath

Great info guys.
Thanks a bunch.
I had seen a post somewhere in the past but couldn't find it again.
I got the 8" all bolted in this past weekend, getting excited with some progress being made.

All C4 use the same yoke so head to the junk yard and find a drive shaft. If you have the original driveshaft from your 6 banger it will probaly fit. On all the pinto conversion and the 84 t-bird that I have just done I used the stock driveshaft. Goodluck.
