I am going to bet it will but may or may not require an adapter, I am not sure you will be happy with the gear ratios in that transmission however, seems like they really low geared but a 260 is not all that big so who knows, some depends on your final drive ratio, etc.

Five bolt bellhousings are available for the T-5 swap but they're expensive.
I'm sure cross-member has to be changed and shifter location is different. Driveshaft probably cut down.
Lots of guys here running T-5 but don't know how many 5 bolt guys. Maybe someone will chime in.

260 has a 5 bolt bellhousing, 3.8 is 6 bolt. With an adapter plate and your 260 belhousing you can run a foxbody mustang t5. Not sure about that tbird tranny, but Fred should know since that is what he has in Sassy

I really like the shifter location of the Tbird trans. The stock tranny mount has to go though, are ya up for some fabrication? Ebrake mount, trans mount, driveshaft, speedo cable,,, thats after spending money on an adapter for your 260.
Fred
Edit, the tunnel may need to be modded as well. I'm not sure cause I haven't had anything stock under the hood for over 40 years.

Hey Fred, is that the Mazda 5-speed with integrated bellhousing?
Pop called it. Looks like a no-go.

I think I may have misread, I was talking about the T5 for a turbo 4-cylinder T-Bird that is what I have sitting under the bench, it looks just like any other T-5 but is geared differently (lower if IIRC) I know nothing looked right when I was comparing the 3.8 gearing to the 4 cyl gearing and was not what I thought I would like, with my 250 & 3.73 rear even the 3.8 T-5 1st gear is pretty low, just makes for a quick shift at first and the possibility of wheel spin  I do however think the 4 Cyl T-5 would be a good match for my 170 and some higher rear gearing :P making a nice cruising car or whatever that 170 finally ends up in

There were 2 sets of ratios in the SuperCoupe.
The low first gear was probably necessary to get those 4000 plus lb tubs with two people in rollin!

'89-'93 M5R2 Gear Ratios:
1st Gear - 3.75
2nd Gear - 2.32
3rd Gear - 1.43
4th Gear - 1.00
5th Gear - 0.75

'94-'95 M5R2 Gear Ratios:
1st Gear - 3.42
2nd Gear - 2.16
3rd Gear - 1.34
4th Gear - 1.00
5th Gear - 0.75

Maybe you can find it from one of these online parts dealers. In addition it is not expensive.
