Can someone tell me how these washers/caps go on.

They may be for the sway bar's end links.which goes in that hole above the little piece of a leaf. Cant think of any where else they would go. make sure you take off the blue shipping cover.

Once you take the shipping cover they may go under the spindle on the ball joint rubber cover.
Post a pic with the shipping off,,,

By the way thanks for telling me that was shipping. I would have left it on.

And also these struts rods, I'm getting new ones but I was just curious. The upper one has two sets of threads and the lower just one. The upper, I suppose is, not the original?

Yea looks like an earlier adjustable type & a later non adjustable rod. but junk now for sure what ever they are. Be a good time to put adjustable ones on but they are higher. but could be made at home cheaper, that's what some of us did. adjustable strut rods makes the car a lot easier to align up.

1963. Could you point me in the direction of ones you recommend.

Well the sky is the limit. depends on what you want from the car & what you want to spend or if you want to build your own . opentracker is one vender who sells them & may sell a kit to make them.

Right or wrong I put those washers on the end links,found some pics to help my memory. I put one on top of the lca cupped up under the rubber of the endlink, & I put one on bottom cupped down then a big flat washer,then nut. kinda lets it lean when it needs to.

Got my adjustable strut from Melvins classic Ford
By the time i got it shipped to Canada $ exchange + duty !!!

This sway bar has the original bushings (or I should say original when I got it). I was wondering if I should replace them. Do they make that much difference in the steering? They seemed a little hard to find and match up.

Definitely replace them while you've got it apart. They're cheap, and no better time than now.

While you're at it, replace the stabilizer bar end links and bushings. Also cheap.

Thanks Jim. So when you order them you measure the diameter of the sway bar?

On the link I included, I used a 260 CI engine since I didn't know what you had. You can click on whichever engine you have, and it should look up the correct part for you. Not sure if there's a difference in bushing size between the V8 and the I6 or not.

So when you order them you measure the diameter of the sway bar?

That's a '63 260 sway bar. Jim's link is correct.

seems like I remember the original LCA had these cup like washers made into the LCA. but I dont always trust my memory anymore
