Sway bar upgrades

Post by Hillbilly Comet Man »

Just installed front (1 1/8") and rear sway bar on my 62 Comet.Unreal the difference felt in the curves, drives flatter with hardly any body roll.I would reccomend this upgrade to anyone wanting to really drive their cars.$230 including shipping.Available on Ebay.

The front is a breeze, the rear is a little more time consuming.

Upon your recomendation, I bought and installed their rear sway bar. Made a noticable difference as body roll is not evident now. I have an R&C front suspens.already with upgraded sway bar so this further helps. Thanks Don

I completely agree, hard to beat the sway bar upgrade for a driver.

I threw a 1" bar on my car from Mustangs Plus, and the difference was noticeable.
I took a sharp turn once before the sway bar and I almost ended up in the passenger seat from the lean angle!

I'm gonna get a bigger bar like you guys!
I still have the stock 3/4 ? bar but have done the Shelby drop,
Well,,my version of it anyway. That is also a great addition to the front.
basically it gives you faster negative camber gain in the front geometry
and with less body roll your cars would probably benefit from this
mod. I'm running a 185/70-14 tire on a 6" rim on the front with
no noticeable tire wear. I put about 30 hours of highway driving
in one weekend alone so the tire doesn't mind the change for
highway use.
I'd rather do it myself if it's done right or not,,,isn't that what hotrodding is all about

Early Falcons and Comets are basically the same, correct? My 65 Aussie Falcon had been modified by the 2nd owner. I am the 4th.

He didn't like the way the standard Falcon rolled about so he added front and rear sway bars.

In fact he told me yesterday that you can add two sway bars to the front to make it even corner with little body roll.

Straight line racing eh? My passion is more akin to vehicles that require to corner. Not like your Nascar which rotate around around and around...this is racing. Up a Mountain at 10/10 ths. Cornering braking, accelerating for 160 laps.

This is the last time the Ford Falcons raced in this format.

This was our 1967 Falcon Falcon GT 289 V8. It won Bathurst that year.
