I have a T-10 four speed with the shifter linkage, mounting plate and the shifter base. No shifter handle. It's for a 64-65 Comet/Falcon. It may fit a 63, but I can't swear to it. The transmission seems to be in good condition. I'm in central Alabama, I prefer local pick up, but may consider shipping at your expense.
The 148-B will bolt to the '63 5 bolt bellhousing.
The 4 inner bolt holes on the front plate match the '63 B-1 spacing.
Not sure about the tailshaft housing. Those changed, depending on shifter location for different models.
My '63 Comet tailshaft housing is 15", if that's any help.
Thanks Joe. I have my eye on a 64 right now, so I may use this transmission if I can score the Comet. I have done the auto to standard conversion on a 65 and was not too difficult. All the parts are out there with just a little bit of research.
There are two '65 202s in my area that are fixing to go up for sale.
One is a 200 I-6 w/ C-4 my buddy has. The other is a roller cam 302 w/ a 4-speed he previously owned.
Both are solid but I don't have a price on them yet.
When I do, I'll post pics in the sale forum.
With the dual-pattern bolt holes case and the shifter mount location it looks like a 1965 Falcon-Comet trans. Used to find those T-10's in Comets more than Falcons in '65. Inner bolt pattern on trans. will match-up to the earlier narrow case bellhousing used on '64 and prior 5-bolt small-block engines, but, the trans. front bearing retainer O.D. is smaller on the earlier trans. You can swap out the bearing retainer.
Can;t recall about retainer,,,,but I do recall if you install a 65 dual bolt patteren trans on a 5bolt BH,,the upper left top bolt is a mortal booger to tighten up...TIGHT..the way the body is built and the webbing on the trans sorrouding that top left bolt keeps a socket and extension from working,,,you have to use a hand wrench and it is hard to use at that..we have heated and bent wrenches for this one job,,,it's almost impossible to get that one bolt as tight as the other 3....I know this because I have a 65 TL in my 64 5 bolt comet...which in turn forces me to use the inside narrow bolt patteren ....now if you build it all out in the floor motor and tranny goes in together,,,your OK,,,,but if tranny goes in after motor,,,you have a problem....but it's a workable problem...my comet has always had a 65 tranny,,, ,I tried the 64 tranny first,,,,bolted drive shaft in ...fired it up let out on clutch,,,out put shaft spun inside frt yoke....the 64 TL has a 26 spline shaft ,,,to small,,,,so to keep from having to come up with correct yoke and change it...I just went over to my stash and pulled out the 65 TL and installed it,,,been in there forever.....pop
