Cyclone GT valve covers

Post by dumptdeluxe »

Looking for set of VC for 1966 Cyclone GT 390, the ones with the badge on top. Also, if someone has a set but doesn't want to sell, measurements would be awesome for having them reproduced.

Also, what is the common name for the valve covers themselves without the badge? I know they're flat on top there for the badge and obviously have to attach somehow. Thanks in advance!

These are what I'm after. I have heard them called rocker covers, too. I guess I'm asking what this specific style of rocker cover is referred to as. I've seen them called different names.

Sorry for the link, but spent an hour trying to figure out how to post a stupid picture. Even the threads about posting a pic are really of no value.

Valve cover with the flat surface on top referred to as 'pentroof'.
Here's an old ad for a pair from the HAMB classifieds- https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/thr ... rs.993984/
Might email him. Probably gone but you never know unless you ask.

Ok, pentroof style. That's what I was after. I did email that ad a month ago and no response, along with another ad I found. I need measurements for the badge plate, otherwise I'll just have to make it close like the picture. Thanks, I appreciate the help!

Does anyone have a lead on where to buy chrome pentroof covers that are exact to original? There's so much out there...to be honest, I'm not a muscle car guy, so not schooled on where to get good parts (I'm just a VW guy). So many places sell compatible stuff, but the info all seems to overlap a bunch and confuses me.

I'm doing this to help my disabled uncle, it's his car. He REALLY wants a set of those Cyclone GT 390 covers, but nobody responds to the ads out there 😑
