1964 Comet Caliente 404 Radio Bezel
Re: 1964 Comet Caliente 404 Radio Bezel
I got one from EBay about 2 years back. Just have to keep looking.
My original also had the thin middle bar cut out by a PO so they could put in a junk aftermarket stereo.
Also took me a while to find the 64 radio but ultimately one turned up.
If you want my other bezel let me know.

Yep, keep an eye on EBay every day. One will pop up eventually.
I'm looking for the same for a '65 202. Good luck!

Pretty sure the bezels are all chrome rib and the woodgrain is just a glue on. Maybe someone else could confirm?

All ‘64 radio bezels for an AM radio are the same, the 202/404 used the chrome ribs, on a Calienti they covered the ribs with a woodgrain adhesive panel, on a Cyclone they covered it with a black camera case adhesive panel. The bezel for a AM/FM radio is different but the coverings followed the models as listed above. The radios used in Comets are the same as used in the big Mercury’s.

I may have a an unmolested faceplate that I could part with but dont hold me too it too much, my mobility is still a bit to be desired and navigating my trecherous shed is an issue, if I can get up there and find it I will snap a picture.64boyyyyyyy wrote: ↑Thu Feb 25, 2021 2:42 amHey guys im on the hunt for a radio bezel for my 1964 Comet Caliente 404 radio bezel, the one with the chrome ridges not the wood inserts. Hey thanks for the reply! That'd be great if you can keep an eye out for that for me, no rush since I have a lot of work to do before I get to it lol.lavron wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 4:22 pmI may have a an unmolested faceplate that I could part with but dont hold me too it too much, my mobility is still a bit to be desired and navigating my trecherous shed is an issue, if I can get up there and find it I will snap a picture.64boyyyyyyy wrote: ↑Thu Feb 25, 2021 2:42 amHey guys im on the hunt for a radio bezel for my 1964 Comet Caliente 404 radio bezel, the one with the chrome ridges not the wood inserts.
