My first car was a 63 Comet convertible that I bought when I was in high school in 1973. It had 260 V8 4 speed with AC. I was living in El Paso at the time. When I went into the Navy in 1974 and headed to Sub School, my father talked me into trading my brother cars (worst thing I have ever done). So I got a Chevy Luv Pickup and he got my Comet. When I got back from sub school, he had traded my Comet for a VW Bus. Needless to say, I didn't talk to my brother for a while.
Now I am looking to find another Comet.

Don’t know your location but there are five Comets on Craigslist within 500 miles of Sacramento.

Hey, mkm (what would you like us to call you? mkm seems a little odd.). I just noticed you're located in Kodak, TN. That's only about 15 miles from Pigeon Forge where we hold our annual Comet Gathering the first weekend in June every year. Hopefully you'll find you a Comet by then and bring it to the party. If not, come anyway. Lot's of folks show up without a car. We usually have between 20 and 30 cars there. Last year they spanned from 1960 through about 1972, if I recall correctly. It's a great time of fellowship with fellow Comet enthusists, hear some great stories, and leave with a lot of new knowledge and ideas for your own car. There'll be some chatter about it beginning early in '24, so keep an eye on the forum.

I plan to be there next year, even if I don't find a 63 for myself.
Thanks
