My 1966 Caliente
My 1966 Caliente
Hello All,
My first time joining a forum like this... I just picked up this 1966 Caliente on October 1st. I wish I could take credit for the excellent build. A 302 @ 320HP, C4 with shift kit, and 9" rear end housing a 3:50 posi with 31 spline axles. Also, all new suspension, power steering, brakes and interior. There is only about 600 miles on the build. I love this car!! So fun to drive!
Little stuff to do: wipers don't work (think the linkage is jammed), interior blower/heater not working (suspect switch).
Bigger stuff down the road: Upgrade drum brakes (they are new and work well),replace 4bbl carburetor with EFI, and new instrument panel so I can have all the gauges in the dash.
Admittedly I've only been driving this and haven't tinkered with it much, yet. Look forward to gleaning tips from this group as I dig into things.
Thanks,
Jim

Nice ride. only things on that list I'd be worried about were the wipers and the heater... the rest all sounds fine just like it is

Nice!
Really like the way the rear wheel sits in the car and stance in general.

That thing looks low and mean. Your 66 has a great stance. Welcome, keep us updated as you do those upgrades.

Thanks! The 295/50's on the rear make it look especially bad ass (mini tubing is a good thing ) Car get's a lot of attention! Updating the brakes after the holidays.
