Hello.

Post by tee_rev »

I recently purchased a 1965 Comet 202 with 29k original miles.
It was kept in a heated Quonset since the early eighties, so it's in exceptional condition.

I'm not one to leave things alone, so I'm turning it into a drag & drive car.

I'll be swapping the entire drivetrain, so I will probably try to sell the stock drive train. The engine runs perfectly!!

I've collected all of the parts for the power train upgrade, so I'll post pics as I progress.

Cheers!

Where you located? This may help you sell off your parts easier.
1965 Mercury Cyclone former drag car, 1971 Boss 351 engine, 4 speed, ladder bars, etc. Now returned to a street car.

Welcome to Comet Central. Sounds like a project. I have enough fun and work just keeping things near stock. Looking forward to seeing your pictures.

Took it for a drive to the scales to see what it weighs. I was pleasantly surprised. 2728lbs

Welcome! I missed your first posts but happy I read back to see your in Calgary. I'm west of you in the Kootenay mountains, Creston bc.
Drag n drive will be a blast, what do you plan on running for time?, power?, where?
Creston Valley Cruisers are hosting a 1/8 mile race at the local airport May long if your out cruisin around.
I'd rather do it myself if it's done right or not,,,isn't that what hotrodding is all about
