New guy
Old bugger new to Comets. Been playing with Fords for as long as I can remember! Have had a bunch of Fords starting with a 63 1/2 390/4 speed/3.89 Galaxie in 1966. My only hobby, enjoy the hunt, capture, build and sale (sometimes) (wife says I can't keep them all) of various years and models. The car I regret having sold was the 58 Edsel Pacer 2dr. ht. Hence the 61 S-22 I just closed the deal on. Waiting for it to arrive. My first "built" car, not sure I have too many builds left before mean ol Mr. Arther takes control! Will be looking for info and maybe provide help in areas that I've "been there, done that" as the process is the same over a bunch of cars. Thanks for having me, Bill

Re: New guy
Sorry for not getting back sooner. Life has gotten in the way and time just rushed on past. Things have settled down some, wife still needs help with a bunch of stuff but I do have a little more time.
First, it looks like the car has a later 200 in it. The cast code on the block is D8, forgot the rest and it is pouring right now so no look. The linkage to the carb is cobbled up but it does start, run, stop and does it all fairly well. Texas car, sun baked rubber seals and felts all need replacement. Still 4 lug/drum all around but now 14" with new rubber.
Couple of pics from the owner, just not time to do it myself.

Looks like a nice, clean car, Bill. Looks like it won't take much to get her the way you want her.

Re: New guy
Should be slight power upgrade over the original engines w/ more potential if you want to take it out there a little.Ford blue blood wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2024 4:54 pmFirst, it looks like the car has a later 200 in it. Hydraulic lifter engine, less maintenance (if cam hasn't been swapped).
Original color scheme of my '63. If I get around to repaint, it may go back to Presidential Black.
Nice car!

Re: New guy
That is a beautiful little car!!!

I have always loved a black car with red interior! I think it is the sexiest color combo there ever was. Especially a car with lots of cool styling , features & chrome!Joe Travers wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 2:03 pmOriginal color scheme of my '63.
