I found one!!!

Post by mercuryman »

Hello all, I just joined the forum a few weeks ago and at that time I mentioned I didn`t have a comet yet. Well, that has changed my friends,I found a 65 cyclone in Denver and after a few e-mails and phone calls I was on my way to Colorado to pick the bad boy up. Body is a little rough but it is very solid structurally. What a fun trip. I was like a kid in a candy shop. The family I bought the car from was great and very understanding with a Michigan country boy. They were sad to see it go. Let the fun begin boys and girls.

I saw that on Craigslist. Looks like a good starting point maybe some surface rust on top the trunk if I remember right. Keep us updated on your project.

Not sure yet. For now just clean it up, take care of the surface rust and drive it. Its a good runner. Has a 302 crate motor in it.
Any suggestion? Where is the best place to get parts?

Depends what you need. Repro Comet stuff- Dearborn Classics and Autokrafters. Compatible Falcon stuff- those two plus FalconParts, Macs, C&G Early Ford, Melvins. Parts that are common with 65-66 Mustang (engine/trans/suspension/some steering, etc) - NPD and CJ Pony.

Good luck!
