Penn grade oil
Hey everyone, my first post in the big block portion. I have a warmed over big block 390 cougar along with my comet and was wondering if you big block guys were using any ZDDP oils. Like Penn grade. Expensive but I’ve heard good things about it.

Re: Penn grade oil
I'm not a big-blocker, but my son-in-law turned me on to using Shell Rotella T. It's actually intended as a multi-grade diesel motor oil, but is fine for gas engines as well. The benefit is that it contains 3 - 9% zinc, as well as 1 - 5% polymer additives. It's designed for the high temps and wear and tear of big diesels, exceeding the requirements of Cummins, Caterpillar, etc. We've had good luck with it.
