Spring is finally here (kinda, supposed to snow and rain next Monday.) After months and months of sanding, and stripping, and grinding, and welding on that Comet my garage was a total mess. Dust and stuff from that thing was everywhere. I even had to clean the pages of my books and folders.
Then decided to move everything out and clean everything. Now I'm going to paint the floor with epoxy. I scrubbed it with degreaser and then used Muratic Acid to etch it. I used Rapid Set CementAll and filled all the cracks. I used a body filler spreader to get in the cracks and feather it out. After it dried I sanded it down with a palm sander. I bought 100, 60 grit sanding discs on Amazon for $25. I only used about 40 of them. It actually sanded pretty well. So far it has worked pretty good. It's not super smooth by any means, but maybe it will look better than before. I guess I'll see tomorrow.

Heck yea it is. I love that stove. I can get that garage up to 70 degrees in the dead of winter with that thing. In fact my buddy and I have been cutting firewood for that last couple weeks. It's finally thawed out a little so we can get up in the mountains. We cut Juniper and Pinyon, and if we're really lucky we get some mahogany. It's a lot of work. I burn about 4 cords in a cold winter.
That's almost just like it,but his trees were a little different maybe,not much ,but the same stove ,real thick top. you could get a good one rolling in it & open the doors & get a sun tan!

Haha yes everything but that stove. Heavy as hell. You only move that thing when you absolutely have to. It's sitting on squares of Oolite limestone from a quarry just south of my house.

That is a unique stove but cutting all that wood and stoking the stove is just too much work for me. I’ll stick to the thermostat on the wall of my shop the controls the heated floor. It keeps my shop and everything in it at 60 degrees no mater how cold it is outside.
Of course you guys who live in a warm climate probably have no idea what we are talking about.

The firewood cutting in the spring is a lot of work. But it gets me in shape for backpacking and fly fishing all summer, and then the hunts in the Autumn. I don't know how much longer I can do it though.
I've about got my garage back together. We've had some big Spring storms with all my stuff out in the driveway covered in tarps. But, I think it's over. Time to start working on the Comet again.

I finally got some epoxy primer on the rest of my Comet. Now I can get the thing outta the garage and move it around to some places I need to get some other stuff done. I need to take it to a guy that is doing some metal work around the rear wheel wells and the far back right quarter panel. It was just stuck in here all winter because it was bare metal.
Now I have to fix these problems at both rear wheel wells and on the right rear end where it looks like it got hit or backed into something over the years. The PO pop riveted metal along the fender wells and then covered it with body filler. There were even pieces of tape on the inside to hold the body filler. But at least things are moving along.

I'm definitely not a fabricator but looks like taillight panel area is the worst of it.
