COOOOL!. not JUST a '63 Comet but the one year body style -'63 Convertible is rarely seen - like Haleys' Comet...

You have a real interesting orphan there , hope for more pictures as you reveal its rescue ...

have fun

If I may ask, why the dismantle? Any structural integrity concerns?
Also, what is drivetrain? Thanks

Interior was pretty rough, lots of mice from being on a farm for years. Also wanted to get interior to original colors. Someone changed interior to red and repainted the car, and not a great job, so stripping to bare metal, fixing some rust around wheel wells. Engine is a 170, with a 2 speed automatic transmission.

If it hasn't been said already th sub frames on Comets are galvanized and hold p better than the body they are welded too but can get rusty as well just check them well they are replaceable. your convertable depends a lot on the strength of the rocker panels which are galvanized as well but they are specific to the convertable but hardtop ones may be the same not sure if '64-'65 are a match or not?
I made sub frame connectors for my '64 and installed them while I was flipped up on the side figured it couldn't hurt anything
