1963 S-22 Bucket Seat Track Extension

On the 50 mile drive home with this new car, I realized the seating position was way too cramped for me (6-4). So I made some simple adapter rails that give an extra 4 inches of legroom. Four screws go down into the original mounting holes, and four screws go up into the seat frame. Of the 8 screws, 6 have zero clearance, so I used countersunk flathead screws. Works perfect and very cheap. The rails are 1/4" mild steel flat bar.

That's a nice and simple tip. I'm 6'-2" & my bench is a little cramped for me.

I made these 5'' back then added holes at 3'' back & that suited me better than 5'' so I left it there . I'm about 6' 1'' in the morning. these are 1/4'' thick also ,,,I think they a bit narrower than yours but I added a rutter to support the outer ones where they hang off the mount/hump.probably coulda did without it at 3'' back but with 5 it was hanging way off the back outer mount .

I used the 2 1/2” material because I had it left over from something else. Probably 1 1/2” would be fine. If it gets too bendy can add a bumper like you did. The seat adjustment runs forward from the 4” setback and I don’t need the full 4 inches. So far no sign of bending.
