Tire/Rim Question

Post by bmmaurer »

Searched but didn't find any responses exactly.

Can I get a 15 x 7, 4 5/8ths backspace, "styled rim" (mustang) from Scott Drake, with a BF Goodrich 205/60R15 to fit on the rear of my '63 Comet without modification of any sort (Rolling or grinding of w/w lip?)

Thanks!

I just put 15 x 8, 4.25" backspaced rims on my 67 with 225/60R15's - fit great - the tire could actually be 1/4" - 1/2" wider with no rubbing.

My rims are good old cragar s/s by the way

I don't really understand back spacing, so this is as close as I can get to an answer..

I bought one of these wheels for a spare, and had to use it, and it fit perfect. Jegs says 3.75" backspace.. Spare tire size 195/60-15

http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/s ... 555-671000

If your wheel is deeper into the well, it should be ok. If its farther out, it could be tight..

Hope that helps..

Bruce;it should fit,I did a 63.5 Falcon Sprint and we used an 8" wheel with the hub centered. You will need to remove the bottoming stop from the frame as it will contact your tires. ROY.
