I have used the 3M 8115 to do exactly what you are doing. It works well. The only thing that may be a problem for you is clamping the pieces. I have a decent selection of the long vise grips and still only did one side at a time. I think it took 3 tubes to do both sides. But I agree with Fred and John and would use adhesive.

Here are some pics of my preferred method of pulse TIG welding sheet metal.

Re: My first 1964 Caliente/Comet project
the tubs and tub panels are not attached yet just mocked up but I think they turned out pretty nice.

Re: My first 1964 Caliente/Comet project
Instead of welding a flange to the tubs and attaching it to the quarter panel I decided to make and inner panel that will be welded to the wheel tub. Basically the wheel tub will then fit a half an inch or so away from the quarter panel and I won't have to worry about welding or gluing the tub to the quarter panel. I'll be fabricating a brace that will tie in the front part of the tubs together and a brace that will tie in to the rear part of the tubs which will be connected to the lower rear quarter panel and trunk floor much as it was originally.

Looks great! as always ! all your work looks top notch. I know you racers are always looking to save weight but I would not have cut the holes in those. debris can collect in there now & rust out the quarter around the wheel opening.

I was thinking the same. Comets are notorious for rusting in that area.

Re: My first 1964 Caliente/Comet project
The reason for the holes was to be able to access the areas needed to attach the stainless trim. However , I could make removable covers for the openings to keep debris out. Thanks guys for the input !
