MN newb

Post by MoKe_D »

New member from west central Minnesota. Have owned a 65 Cyclone and now a 64 Cyclone.

We purchased the 64 Cyclone in 2014 and started it's restoration in the fall of 2019. Just got it back from body shop in May 2021 and I plan to finish it myself.

My wife and I plan to go on cross country trips once completed which hopefully will be this spring. Will be good to meet up with other members in our travels. First trip could be to experience Route 66.

Happy New Year to all!!

Welcome aboard, Kevin! :D Sounds like you've got the same plan as I do. I plan to build mine as a cruiser, as well, and a bucket list item is to cruise Rt. 66 in it. You've got better access than I do, though. I'll have to drive half way across the country to get to the starting point. But.....ain't nothin' wrong with that!

Joe,

It's more towards period correct high performance with some mechanical modifications. I was able to find a Mustang K-code engine and had it completely rebuilt. It will end up being the way I would have ordered it from the factory in 64.

After getting it home we found out it was built on my birthday. It's a keeper!

poboyjo,

Thanks, We hope to do that. I believe Pete Gerard is there every year and sold his 65 Cyclone there in 2021.

Pete helped me sort through things regarding a factory look tri-power throttle linkage set-up.

Welcome Kevin, love those cyclones, sounds like a fun build. And a K code Stang engine, great find there.
All the best with your build, happy and safe travels with it!
