Comet Gathering 2023

Post by CosmicComets »

Have the dates been set for the 2023 gathering? I realize it is usually the first weekend of June. I'm trying to schedule some weekends and would sure like to come back, hard to believe it was 2013 when we were there. I would probably make the trip if it were the following weekend, closer to The Hotrod Reunion at Beach Bend Raceway in Bowling Green 15th-17th. Maybe I could have NHRA reschedule! :)

Its the weekend of June 2, 3 and 4. Just get NHRA to reschedule. I'm sure they'd understand. :D

Bumping this up. Haven't heard much chatter about it, and it's barely over three weeks from now. Who's planning on being there? :D

I had planned on going, but my first grandchild is due to be born on June 3rd. SO, it's a no go this year.

Congrats, we'll be there with our grandkids.

We've been doing some behind the scenes work to get ready. Hopefully it will be the biggest show yet!

Just talked to Mr. Wayne, he sent the flyer to all previous attendees and I believe Johnny posted it on Facebook for us.

It was Nathan who posted it, (ratical) I think or Wayne,,,, I just reposted it & pinned it to the top so it stays up there on a couple sites including comet central.

Cool, thanks Johnny.

Susie called me today and she is having trouble again with the city on the big tent. She will have some tables and what she described as pretty big umbrellas for us. Any one who can please bring your tents if you have them, 10 or 12 footers would be best. She said we could put them up and the worst they could do is ask us to take them down but she would allow it. I'm always leery about tents at car events due to the fact the people don't secure them effectively and I've seen them get air born and damage cars, I will see that we have whatever we need to tie them together and secure then effectively. It wont be ideal but we've done it before and it doesn't seem to dampen the fun. If you do bring one or see someone with one please make sure it is secured effectively or if you don't feel comfortable addressing it just bring it to my attention and I will address it with all my diplomatic skills. :D

Susie gave JL a count today or 35 definite and 10 other probable Comet reservations, thy are sold out. I have a extra room I will probably release tomorrow so if anyone needs one call me (my numbers on the flyer) and I will have her hold it in your name. We may be there as early as Monday, if anyone needs anything on the trip in just hollow and we'll get you handled one way or another! AAA premium is your friend.

Hopefully another record this year but more importantly another successful event!

I have a pop-up I'll bring. I think it's 10x10, but may be smaller. We use it when we go to the beach.
