Found a 68 for sale

Post by loman »

Cruising the net and drinking coffee this morning and I came across this 1968 Comet. I would bet that the 68 & 69 Comets are the ones I see the least. Does anyone know the production numbers for those years?

found another one and this appears to be really nice

No you don't see those too much, judging from the price of the second one the white one couldn't be worth much. I could be a cool car done right.

They look a lot like Torinos not sure if they are built on that platform, I know that Falcons from around that era were, in fact I believe my dad had a pea green 70 Falcon with a green interior for a short while when I was a kid, not sure why he traded it off except he was always trading cars, a few I wish he had kept, that being one of them.

See Ya,

THere is a guy near me that has 4 68 Comets. 3 Cyclones and 1 Comet. All really nice cars and all big block cars. One is a rare 68 Cyclone formal roof (Mercury made lots of formal roof Comets, very few formal roof Cyclones.). Two 68 Cyclone fastbacks and one 68 Comet convertible.

I have pictures of a couple of them.

I bought a Merc for the engine that looked just like that. I thought it was a Montego. I took the rocker molding off, shortened it a bit and used it on my 62 Comet.

I believe in 68 the Comet was the base model, Cyclone the sport model and Montego the luxury model.

Funny thing is he only likes 68's. I asked him, whats the difference from a 69? He just said the 68's are better. :?

I might have to disagree but only because I have a 69. yes the production numbers are low on a comet. most were cyclones or montegos

I bought a US Montego too; just to part out. Must've been an upper trim package.
