Hi all.
I am new to the forum as I just purchased a 1966 Cyclone Convertible with a factory 390 and 4 speed.
I have read that the 390 was only available in 1966 in the Cyclone GT, not the standard Cyclone. Is this correct?
My Cyclone is a DSO 84 Home Office Reserve car, and it came from the factory with the 390 2V, 4 speed, 3:00 traction lock, and factory in dash AC.
I have been told that the 390 2V is listed as "Special". I have the original 2V intake and it has a big S on the top of the casting...
Just trying to understand the facts on what could be ordered with what...
Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: 1966 engine offerings question
66 Cyclone GT; 245/60R15's on 15x8's and 215/70R15's on 15x7 Magnum's.
There's nothing like the sound of a pushrod V8 singing at the top of her lung's.

Re: 1966 engine offerings question
Thanks Lip.
Yes, I had found this information previously.
Based on my understanding of this data, the 390 was NOT available on the standard Cyclone, only the GT.
Mine is a non GT, so I am assuming that since it is a DSO 84 vehicle, it seems that they were able to order the Y code 390 in the non GT Cyclone.
Just trying to understand the facts. I am a Gran Torino guy, so Comet information is all new to me.
Thanks for the help. Len

Mine is a caliente with a 390 4 speed, 3.00 9 inch re, factory air in dash. I know it's rare, also a home office order number 27. You have a rare care also.
